Victim Story #27
My $20,000 Nightmare with AI Agency Mastermind
I reluctantly shelled out $20,000 for the AI Agency Mastermind coaching service back in March 12, 2025 - a decision that now sits like a rock in my stomach. The transaction went through their payment system, which I later discovered was plagued with customer complaints. Should've seen that red flag.
Over six months as a member, the program consistently fell short of what was promised. Their marketing materials caught my eye in February - slick presentations boasting cutting-edge AI agency strategies that seemed revolutionary. But after parting with my hard-earned cash, what I got was disappointingly familiar. The content? Just rehashed basics you could find on any free YouTube channel with a decent following.
The material lacked any real substance or originality. Take their supposedly “advanced AI prompt engineering“ module - it was nothing I hadn't already stumbled across in free blogs and videos. Their “exclusive“ client acquisition strategies turned out to be cookie-cutter cold outreach templates with a light AI services veneer slapped on. In April, they dangled the carrot of a major content update that never materialized. Week after week, I kept checking. Nothing.
The community aspect was equally hollow from day one in March. Scrolling through member profiles revealed a ghost town of generic avatars and empty posting histories. When I'd reach out about specific challenges I was facing, conversations fizzled out or I'd get painfully scripted responses. During the handful of “community calls“ I managed to attend in May and June, only 3-4 people would show up, despite all the talk about a thriving community of hundreds. The few who did attend seemed chummy with the founders - not your typical paying clients trying to build businesses.
Support vanished faster than my payment cleared. Between March and September, I sent 17 increasingly frustrated emails to their support address and posted 28 questions in what they called the “priority support“ Discord channel. All I got back were two automated responses and zero actual help. Those daily coaching calls they prominently featured in their sales pitch? Cancelled more than 80% of the time, with last-minute messages about “technical difficulties“ or vague “unforeseen circumstances.“
They're clearly riding the AI trend without delivering anything of value. When I attempted to request a refund in July, citing what appeared to be clear breaches of promised services, my messages disappeared into the void. I later found out they'd been removed from both Whop.com and Stripe. When I reached out to these payment processors in August, they confirmed the program had been suspended from their platforms due to an avalanche of customer complaints and refund requests. Not exactly a surprise by that point.
